Our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training has been meticulously built for people of all ages, physical abilities, and levels of prior experience with yoga. The pace of the course allows complete beginners to absorb each teaching with clarity and confidence, while giving experienced practitioners the depth and rigor to completely rebuild their understanding from the ground up.
Whether you are a long-time practitioner finally ready to teach, a curious traveller looking for something that actually means something, or someone who simply knows that there is more to yoga than what your local studio offers — this course will give you perspectives that stay with you long after you leave the Himalayas.
This is our flagship program. It is the most complete introduction to classical yoga teaching that we offer — and it is conducted entirely in residence, in the mountain village of Bir, Himachal Pradesh, beneath the snow-capped Dhauladhar range.

What makes this training special?
What sets Meluha Yoga Shala apart is our insistence on teaching yoga that extends beyond physical asanas — rooted entirely in India’s classical tradition rather than modern fitness culture.
While you receive comprehensive instruction in postural yoga, we offer in-depth education in yogic philosophy, Sanskrit, Vedic breathing, and traditional meditation practices — providing a depth of understanding that surpasses the curriculum of most programs available anywhere in the world.
Our unique setting in Bir, Himachal Pradesh — surrounded by Buddhist monasteries, pristine forest, and the Dhauladhar range — provides a living, breathing classroom that no indoor studio can offer. The environment itself is part of the teaching.
By the end of the course, you will not only be equipped to teach physical yoga classes — you will carry a deep understanding of yoga’s spiritual and philosophical dimensions, enabling you to guide your students toward a more meaningful and lasting practice.
Final Certification
Our yoga school and training program are registered and approved by Yoga Alliance, which means you will receive training that meets and surpasses their minimum standards for techniques and training, teaching methodology, anatomy and physiology, yoga philosophy, and practicum.
Upon successful completion of all 200 hours, you will qualify for your RYT 200 certification — opening doors to teach yoga professionally in studios, retreats, and wellness spaces internationally.
Extended Practicum
At Meluha Yoga Shala, we believe that confidence as a teacher comes from practice — not just study. That is why our curriculum includes structured practicum sessions where you teach your peers under the direct guidance of our lead teacher.
This hands-on experience allows you to put into practice what you have learned in the training and to gain valuable teaching experience in a supportive, familiar environment.
By the end of the course, you will have taught multiple full class sequences — with corrections, feedback, and the confidence that comes from having actually done it.
Healthy Food
The course fee includes three sattvic vegetarian meals served daily — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — freshly prepared following traditional Ayurvedic principles.
Lunch and dinner are clean, light, and designed to support your practice rather than slow it down.
Special dietary requirements (vegan, gluten-free) are accommodated on request.
WHY MELUHA?

Situated in Bir, Himachal Pradesh — India’s most sacred yet undiscovered YTTC destination — Meluha Yoga Shala is dedicated to sharing the essence of yoga according to ancient Himalayan tradition.
